Survivors: Brandon Cutler, Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson

News and Notes:
The Mad Dogs of War, The Pitbulls, ended up being Raven's mystery partners but they weren't enough to secure a victory for The Flock. In fact, Raven ended up being all alone against all five of his opponents and was beat from pillar to post before getting hit was a BTE Trigger from The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. These 10 men brawled all over the arena in one of the bloodiest fights you'll ever see.

Rob Van Dam and Sabu's odd couple act has worked everywhere they've wrestled so it's really no surprise that adding a third combustible element to the mix in the form of Will Ospreay led to championship gold. RVD scored the final fall and the belts for his team after he broke a keyboard over Hallowicked's head and finished him off with the Five Star Frog Splash after a grueling 40-minute war. Ospreay grabbed his belt and immediately walked to the back, leaving Alfonso, Sabu and RVD in the ring for an awkward photoshoot to commemorate the moment.

Joel Gertner had to flee from The Dudleys after he inadvertently got them disqualified.

Definitely a contrast in styles in the VPWA's first ever All or Nothing match, where the winner would receive a contract. Most outsiders would have looked at Dasher Hatfield and Drew McIntyre and expected the Scot to demolish his opponent but that wasn't the case as Hatfield controlled the majority of the match and came within a hair of winning and earning a spot in the VPWA on several occasions. Almost wasn't good enough, however, as McIntyre was able to rally and score the victory with his devastating Claymore kick.

Cactus Jack demolished young Irving Goff in just under three minutes. Goff got one move in on offense, an elbowsmash that both caught Cactus off-guard AND motivated him to inflict serious punishment.

VPWA Wednesday Warfare #5

Andrade El Idolo pinned Bryon Hardy with the Idolo in 0:02:11.

Cactus Jack and Irving Goff defeated The Backseat Boyz (Johnny Kashmere and Trent Acid) when Cactus Jack pinned J. Kashmere after a bulldog in 0:02:16.
(Gary Morton was unable to compete.)

Rob Van Dam and Sabu defeated The Flock (Stevie Richards and The Blue Meanie) when Sabu defeated Richards when Richards passed out in a sleeperhold in
0:14:16.
Rating: ***
[Bill Alfonso interfered against The Blue Meanie.]

Chris Candido and Jinsei Shinzaki battled to a double countout in 0:14:27.
Rating: ***
[Johnny Kashmere interfered against Jinsei Shinzaki.]

Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega defeated The Headbangers (Headbanger Mosh and Headbanger Thrasher) when K. Omega pinned Mosh with the One-Winged Angel in 0:10:26.
Rating: ** 1/4

News and Notes:
Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega looked like a well-oiled machine once again as they dispatched of The Headbangers in a rather one-sided affair. These two are obviously great singles competitors but it looks like they could have a nice run together as a tag team if they so choose.

The lowlife Backseat Boyz attacked Gary Morton prior to the match but were shocked when the deranged Cactus Jack made his way down to the ring to team with the young Irving Goff. Not only did Cactus save the young man from an embarassment but he secured Goff's first career win for him with a total decimation of Kashmere and Acid that involved a ring bell and a lot of blood. It wasn't all gravy for Goff as Cactus Jack laid him out with a Double Arm DDT after the match.

Rob Van Dam and Sabu were able to coexist long enough to dispatch Stevie Richards and The Blue Meanie is a violent affair. After choking out Richards, Sabu was confronted by Will Ospreay. Before anything could happen, Bill Alfonso shocked the crowd and his charges when he announced that Ospreay, Sabu and RVD would be TEAMING UP next week to compete for the Six Man Tag Team Titles.

The Backseat Boyz weren't through as they made their presence felt during the match between Chris Candido and Jinsei Shinzaki. They interfered on Candido's behalf multiple times but ultimately the match ended in a double countout. Interesting to note that Candido and Tammy Lynn Sytch left side-by-side with The Backseat Boyz after Hayabusa came to his partner's aid after the match.

The Flock (Raven, Stevie Richards and The Blue Meanie) defeated The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) and Brandon Cutler when Richards pinned M. Jackson with the Stevie Kick in 0:06:25.
Rating: ***

News and Notes:
Injustice in the main event as Matt Jackson was pinned by Stevie Richards thanks to an assist from Raven, or more specifically the salt he threw in Jackson's eyes. Raven has come out on top against all competition but that might change in two weeks time at Wednesday Warfare: Streets of Rage when his Flock and two other partners of his choosing will meet The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes and Brandon Cutler in a Raven's Rules elimination match!

Bret Hart had Jinsei Shinzaki locked in the Sharpshooter for over a minute on two separate occasions but was unable to make him submit. Shinzaki mounted a furious comeback as the time limit drew near and finished off The Hitman with his patented Praying Power Bomb with a little over a minute left in the match.

Cactus Jack made quite the impression in his debut match despite coming up on the losing end of his battle as he put Onita through three tables and cut him open after multiple weapon shots. Onita ended up showing why he is one of the true kings of hardcore wrestling after he broke several weapons over Jack's head in quick succession before finishing him off with a Thunder Fire Power Bomb.

Rob Van Dam defeated Will Ospreay by disqualification in 0:05:09.
Rating: **

News and Notes
The dream match main event ended in disappointment when Will Ospreay disqualified for throwing referee Jimmy Korderas out of the ring after what he deemed to be a slow count. Afterwards RVD gloated about how "easy" it was to beat Ospreay which led to Sabu running down to the ring and shoving his on again, off again tag team partner. Bill Alfonso was able to calm his charges down but this looks to be a powder keg of a situation.

The Young Bucks scored their first tag team victory over Raven's flunkies, Stevie Richards and The Blue Meanie. Raven appeared out of nowhere after the match and assaulted the Bucks' second, Brandon Cutler which sets up a big six man tag team match for next week.

Cody Rhodes lost in surprising fashion to Headbanger Thrasher. After the match Kenny Omega came down to the ring and suggested that they should team up and possibly make a run at the Tag Team Titles as a way to get their heads on straight.

The Eliminators debuted in dominating fashion, taking just over a minute to win their match. The Tag Title tournament is shaping up to be highly competitive!

[Raven's Rules]: No-Time-Limit-No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Raven pinned Kenny Omega after a powerslam in 0:03:23.
Rating: ***

News and Notes:
The Dark Breed looked impressive in their first VPWA match. Most people are here in the VPWA for gold and glory but the combination of UltraMantis Black and Hallowicked seem to have different motivations...

Needless to say, Sabu's open challenge didn't go as well as RVD's did last week. When it was clear that Will Ospreay was going to finish off Sabu, Bill Alfonso got involved has purposely got his charge disqualified to save him the embarassment. Later on in the night RVD was making fun of his partner/rival and said that next week he'll take care of Ospreay.

Trent Acid moved to 2-0 against Hayabusa, although this time it was a much more spirited affair. The two had a back-and-forth match that was ultimately decided when Hayabusa missed a Moonsault Plancha to the outside. Acid hit The Phoenix with a choke slam on the unpadded ringside floor before rolling him back into the ring to pin him.

The Dudley Boys defeated The Young Bucks in a clash of teams that have to be considered favorites for winning the World Tag Team Titles. The Dudleys had a significant weight advantage and made sure to use it throughout the match.

Raven picked up another win over Kenny Omega in tonight's main event despite being beaten from pillar to post. Omega was thought to be the ace of the VPWA but is it possible that Raven's Rules will govern the organization?

Next week!
Rob Van Dam vs. Will Ospreay!
Cody Rhodes vs. Headbanger Thrasher!
Andrade El Idolo in action!

News and Notes:
Bret Hart and Chris Candido showed what the VPWA was all about in the promotion's first ever match. In-ring performance will dictate who moves on to the World Title Tournaments.

"Mr. Monday Night" Rob Van Dam issued an open challenge that was answered by non-contracted tag team specialist Headbanger Thrasher. RVD won with his Five Star Frog Splash but Thraser might have proven enough to stick around in the VPWA for the time being.

Anything can happen in the VPWA as proven by the shock win by The Backseat Boyz over the international dream team of Hayabusa and Jinsei Shinzaki. One has to imagine that Acid and Kashmere have cemented their spot in the upcoming tag title tournament.

The VPWA will not be defined by any one style as the wild brawl between hardcore legends Onita and Nakamaki demonstrated.

The result of the huge 8-man tag team main event shocked everyone as Raven pinned the man who many view as the franchise of the VPWA, Kenny Omega, with his Evenflow DDT. Of course, the keyboard Raven broke over Omega's head while referee Rudy Charles was distracted played a major part in the decision. Either way, after the show it was announced on VPWA.com that Omega and Raven would meet next week in a Raven's Rules match!
